How does temperature conversion work?

Temperature conversion uses dedicated formulas rather than simple ratio-based conversion. The tool converts the input value to Celsius first, then converts from Celsius to the target unit. This ensures accurate results for Celsius ↔ Fahrenheit, Celsius ↔ Kelvin, and Fahrenheit ↔ Kelvin conversions.

What does the swap button do?

The swap button (⇄) instantly reverses the source and target units. For example, if you are converting from kilometers to miles, clicking swap changes it to miles to kilometers and recalculates the result automatically.

How precise are the conversion results?

The tool uses precise conversion factors and displays up to 8 decimal places for values greater than 1. For very small values, it switches to scientific notation with 6 significant digits. Integer results are displayed without decimal places.

Does the data storage conversion use binary or decimal units?

The data storage conversion uses binary (IEC) units where 1 KB = 1024 bytes, 1 MB = 1024 KB, and so on. This is the standard used by most operating systems and is sometimes referred to as KiB, MiB, GiB in formal contexts.
