Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Pixel Art Generator?

The Pixel Art Generator is a browser-based pixel art editor that lets you draw on a customizable grid with tools like pen, fill, eraser, and color picker. It runs entirely in your browser with no data sent to any server.

What grid sizes are supported?

You can choose from six grid sizes: 8x8, 16x16, 24x24, 32x32, 48x48, and 64x64. Changing the grid size will reset the canvas, so be sure to export your work first.

How do I use the fill tool?

Select the fill tool from the toolbar, then click on any cell in the grid. It will flood-fill all connected cells of the same color with your currently selected color. This is useful for filling large areas quickly.

Can I undo or redo my drawing actions?

Yes, the tool supports up to 50 levels of undo and redo. You can use the toolbar buttons or press Ctrl+Z to undo and Ctrl+Shift+Z to redo your last action.

How does the PNG export work?

When you click Export PNG, the tool generates a pixel-perfect image at the exact resolution of your grid (e.g., 16x16 pixels). The exported file uses transparent backgrounds for empty cells and is named automatically based on the grid size.
