Frequently Asked Questions

What color formats are supported?

Three common formats are supported: HEX (e.g. #FF5733), RGB (e.g. rgb(255, 87, 51)), and HSL (e.g. hsl(11, 100%, 60%)). All three are displayed simultaneously when picking a color.

How accurate is the color picking?

The tool uses a magnifier that zooms into surrounding pixels as you move the cursor, allowing pixel-perfect color picking with accurate color values.

Can I save colors I've picked?

Yes. Every color you pick is automatically saved to the color history. You can review previously picked colors at any time and copy their values with one click.

How do I pick a color from a specific spot in the image?

After uploading an image, move your cursor to the target spot — the magnifier follows and shows a zoomed view of surrounding pixels. Click to pick the color at that position, with HEX, RGB, and HSL values displayed simultaneously.

How does the dominant color extraction work?

The tool downsamples the image, quantizes and clusters the pixel colors, then counts the most frequent color groups. It extracts the top 5 dominant colors and displays them as a palette in the sidebar.
